Pros & Cons
- Engage from 4 sides, meaning you'll never miss your pedal again.
- The large openings ensure mud won't stick to your pedal.
- Require regular maintenance. Replacing the bearings is easy enough to do yourself with the Crankbrothers Service Kit.
- The body tends to dig into carbon soles. Use Shoe Shields to prevent this from happening.

Good pedals for this price
I have been happily riding eggbeaters for years and now for my new gravel so bought a new set.
Pros & Cons

Pedal is fine because you can engage from 4 sides. However, engaging often fails.
Switched from my worn-out SPD pedals and my expectations were high. However, it is disappointing as it often fails to click in. Tried adjusting the plates differently but unfortunately no improvement.

Good pedal for this price
Good pedal that you can get in and out of well and what I like is that you can also move around a bit in it

Great pedal but not long-lasting
I’ve always used egg beater pedals and love their durability, as well as how slick and easy they are ride with/on. However, they are not particularly long lasting as I’ve managed to get through three pairs in four years (the springs have broken on them). Despite this, they are relatively cheap to replace and are great to ride on, hence why I don’t use an alternative pedal.
